Self-doubt can be one of the most crippling things. It’s easy to listen to the voices of others & the ones inside your own head - the one’s that speak what you know to be a lie, “You’re not good enough.” “Just quit so that you don’t make a fool of yourself.” “Give up the fight because there is no way that you can win or even come out alive.”

As an independent artist, I have consistently waged a war in my mind over what are healthy thoughts and what aren’t. Often, discouragement has swept in like a thief in the night, stealing what I know to be true & telling me that what I’ve set out to do is impossible. 

So this song is personal for me - it was the moment that I told myself, “I will not believe the lies.” Giving up is not an option. Write songs and share them with my friends. Follow through in what you know to be true - in your heart.
